5 Hardest things to overcome while starting a weight training program

For some these might resonate, but for others this may not be true. Ive been training for almost 10 years and Ive heard a lot of things on why its so tough to start a weight training program. Im going to give you my TOP 5:

1) Negative Self Talk- a lot of times our own worst enemy is ourself. We can’t decide on what we really want out of a weight training or weight loss program, so we talk ourselves out of or we just find any other excuse on WHY NOW is not the time.

2) Meal Planning: sometimes this is a daunting task because it takes so much time. Yes!! I do agree it takes a significant amount of time to do so, but it is far better than going through a fast food restaurant for every meal. If you don’t meal for most meals you will end up sabotaging the end results: Weight Loss and Feeling Awesome. There are a ton of recipes and simple solutions to this problem. I have 3 awesome recipe books that could solve lot of the problem. Let me know and Ill email them over.

3) Muscle Soreness: I heard this from a lady who was interested yesterday, “ I need to start soon, but I don’t to endure the soreness Ill experience.” I responded and told here that all of the soreness will be temporary, so if she could be through the first few weeks of training she would feel awesome long term. FEAR is another factor in soreness as well. I can’t walk or move without feeling stiff, I can’t feel my legs, or my back is a bit tight. Get movement in and stretch. It will go away, slowly but surely.

4) Support System: I think this can be a make or break for some folks. Surround yourself with folks who are going to celebrate the small WINS and have a huge party for the Big Wins. Get away from the negativity. Some folks just can’t be happy for you, they only want the praise themselves.

5) The Dreaded Scale: Throw the thing in the trash. This become your own worst enemy. You step on it day one, then day 5, then, day 10 and nothing has happened. Don’t weight every day, heck maybe even once every other month. This will stress you out and make you binge if the number isn’t moving down. Trust me, Ive been there and done that.
