Dr. Oz’s Top Recommendations For Aging Gracefully
In a recent interview with Rachel Ray, Dr. Oz revealed the top foods he likes to eat to slow down the aging process.
They not only slow the aging process (due to the vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants), they do a whole lot more.
Like:
Lower blood pressure…
Contain cholesterol…
Slow the aging of the brain and heart…
And slows the development of fine lines, wrinkles, and age spots.
Want to know what foods Dr. Oz recommends?
They are:
1. Wild-Caught Fatty Fish (like salmon)
Fish, like salmon, contain the omega-3 fatty acids, which possess potent anti-inflammatory properties. And the lower your inflammation is, the better your health may be. However, there are plenty of people who are deficient in the omega-3 fatty acids, which could speed up the aging process. Get your fill by eating more fatty fish. If you’re not a fish fan, then you should supplement with fish oil, krill oil, or an algae-based supplement.
2. Nuts/Seeds
Nuts and seeds are a great source of nutrition. Not only are they full of protein, they also contain the vitamins and minerals your body needs to slow the aging process. Nuts like walnuts, for example, have been shown to boost brain function by slowing down aging of the brain. For a great snack, grab a handful of almonds, peanuts, walnuts, pistachios, or pecans to get your fill of anti-aging nutrients.
3. Dark Leafy Greens
Dark leafy greens, like spinach and kale, contain a boatload of nutrients to protect your health, while slowing down the aging process. Not only do they slow down the aging process, they also improve your digestion (fiber), lower cholesterol, and reduce the risk for diabetes or heart disease.
4. Pomegranates
Pomegranates are great for slowing the aging process. The juice itself is brimming with nutrients that your body needs to stay healthy and youthful. These nutrients may also lower blood pressure—which is important, since high blood pressure is linked to faster aging.
If you want to slow down the aging process, prevent fine lines and wrinkles, or you just want to look “your age,” then it’s important that you maintain a healthy diet full of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. And, according to Dr. Oz, including these 4 foods could lower inflammation and blood pressure, reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and are important for slowing down the aging process.
