Going Places in a Hurry?

So, as I was getting my crew together this morning, I was in a bit of a rush and started off to work. Today was not a usual work day, I had my boys with me. We loaded up and I thought I had everything together this morning. I mean when the wife is out of town what guy is going to admit he can’t handle the household duties. I thought I had it all down,

I got the boys ready and loaded up in the car with breakfast and everyone locked into their seats. I rolled down the hill and made two rights out of the neighborhood. I got to the stop sign and looked both ways.

Then I immediately took the main road headed to work. About 0.1 miles down the road I heard what sounded like someone tapping their fingers on the roof of the car. I looked up and out of the back window I see something slide off, hit the pavement, and bounce off onto the side of the road. For just a slight moment, i patted my pockets and what like, “Oh Crap, that was the phone.”

I went just a bit farther and turned around. With the crew in the car I briefly stopped safely off the side of the road. I walked around for a bit with no sign of the phone. So, I was just thinking oh well. My feet were soaked because it rained a ton the night before. With soggy feet, no phone, and running late this day was off to a bad start.

I think we can all relate. Some things just don’t go our way. When this happens ,what do you usually tell yourself? This is the worst day ever or Why does everything happen to me?

If you are going to the gym in a hurry sometimes you might forget your workout towel or your water bottle. Heck you might even forget your post workout shake or snack. It happens more than you think.

Fast forward 4 hours!! I dropped the boys off at my brother in laws house for no less than 20 minutes while I was looking for my phone. Turns out I found it, just like that towel or shake that you left, I knew it would be there, just a matter or location.

We can get frustrated initially, but now I laugh about it. How stupid could I be? Really Stupid, but now I have my phone and all is well.

Moral to the Story: Slow Down, Take a Deep Breath, and Everything will be alright.
