Am I able to workout if I am injured?

Well, the short answer would be YES! Unless, you just can’t use any of your limbs and are not mobile at all. This comes up more frequent than you might think.

I have athletes who might roll their ankle or pull a muscle slightly while they are participating in GYM Class at school on while on the field practicing. The good news is that we can always work around injuries. You might be thinking to yourself, How can I still train if Im recovering? Thats a great question.

I had the privilege of working in an orthopedic clinic for over 3 Years and I learned quite a bit in regards to injury and how to continue to get clients better even if they have some restrictions. There are still plenty of exercises that you will be able to do, but some might have to be modified.

Modified seems like its going to be super easy, but in all reality its not.

Here is how i approach it.

I think of things in a 3 Part Series:

Option A: Best case scenario- we should be able to all exercises

Option B: Moderate Modifications: a lot of these lead to using bands or some type of assisted device. Ex. TRX

Option C: Significant Modifications: Most exercises are either ground based or just using BW Only

We have a ton of options, it will just depend on how you are moving and if there is any pain or discomfort.

With all of these options, its always a Win Win for myself and the Athletes if we get together and format a plan.

A plan that along with the Athlete, Parents, Next Level Staff, and also their Orthopedic DR/ Physical Therapist will serve for the best outcome to get that individual back in the playing field or court.

if you are need of getting back in the swing of things, but don’t know where to start, let The Next Level help!

I have worked with some of the Best Athletes in Williamson County and some who are on the rise in Middle School. No matter the sports or your athletic abilities there is always room for improvement.

You can also check of Benchmark Physical Therapy in Carothers Parkway, Performance Therapy Institute on Bakers Bridge, and any of the Start Physical Therapy Clinics in Williamson County to get your Athletes in working order, so they can take their game to the Next Level.
