What is GOOD Nutrition??

Brentwood,TN

How do we define good nutrition? Is it solely based on what we eat, how much we eat, and to an extent how often we eat? There is so much out there that will dictate how you view Nutrition. You have so many diets and fads that it is really hard to keep up with.

Ask yourself the same question and see if you come up with a similar answer: What is GOOD Nutrition?

Based around  Precision Nutritions thought on GOOD Nutrition, you have to look at the bigger picture.

GOOD Nutrition Controls your Energy Balance: Without enough energy in our body we do not function at our highest capacity. We tend to feel sluggish, tired, and cranky. The list could go on, but we will stop at those. If we have too much energy it can also create some other issues as well. We can become resistant to certain hormones in the body (leptin and insulin), which can cause inflammation.

Good Nutrition Gives us Nutrients: Each piece of food that we eat in nutrient dense in some form or fashion. Some foods are more dense than others. If you sit back and think for a moment about some of the foods you are eating, are they nutrient dense or not. For example: Cookies-low density, Kale-high density. Look for foods that are bright and deeply colored, beans, meat, eggs, or whole grains.

Good Nutrition Looks for the Victories!!! You can't go through life following strict rules on dieting and limiting yourself to only 3-4 different kinds of foods. Being strict with your diets never made YOU happy. Think about the last time you went on a RESTRICTIVE DIET. How irritable were you? How many people wanted to be around you for more than 30 minutes? Good Nutrition needs to be fun. Be excited about eating different kinds of foods that interest you.

Look for the things that make you happy with your Nutrition. We are not out here to make anyone happy but ourselves. There isn't a standard for GOOD Nutrition. If you look good, feel good, and like the things you do day in and day out, thats what really matter most!!
