Don't wait until you need to do something about it!!
There are quite a few circumstances that will bring in new clients into the facility. Weight loss, gain strength, move, and feel better.
But, quite often I also get some who say, “ Well I went for my annual check up and my cholesterol was higher than its ever been and my blood pressure wasn’t looking to good either.”
I get it that life is busy and sometime we neglect our health and don’t tend to keep it on the up and up. Do you think that worth the risk of being on medication the rest of your life to worrying about what might happen tomorrow?
Why do we have to be told multiple times to do something or there has to be an even take place before we take action?
Are we lazy? Do we make too many excuses?
I think we can agree with a little bit of both of these, but it wasn’t until one of my clients Mike said something that peaked my interest around this topic. He said, “ Man I should have come to see you about 4 months ago, but I just couldn’t bring myself to do it. I knew I needed to and I wanted to, so I went to my Annual Check Up and my Blood Pressure was through the roof and I had gained an extra 20-25 lbs.” Mike waited just like most of us would have until something triggered him to want to come in.
I played the follow up game for about 4 months before he came in for his initial session and I would say he’s been pretty happy ever since. He’s got tons of energy, has lost 20lbs, and is in better shape than he was in College and the NFL.
I say all of this to prove a point. Don’t wait until you go to the Dr. and he tells you some bad news around your overall health and well-being. Start documenting how you feel and keep a journal so you know how the lack of exercise affects you mentally, emotionally, and etc..
Let it be known that he more active you are and the more effort you put in, the more everyone around you will start to notice.
